I am a keyboard player in a r & b/ funk horn band. I am looking for a keyboard that simulates a Hammond b3. I currently use a cx3 from the early 1980's and it does not have the deep Leslie sound that the new cx3 has. I heard the Nord Electro 2 used by the keyboardist in The Mauds and I loved the sound! Can anyone point out any differences between Korg and Nord? Which is better with regard to reliability, ease of use, value etc. Thanks

All I know for sure is the Nord does not have real drawbars, if that matters to you.

They both sound great, altho some purists will split hairs on their sound. The Electro is much lighter weight and comes in both 60 and 76 key versions. Cost is fairly close.

You really need to listen yourself to both boards. Again, they're both very good re B3 and leslie sims.

Hi:
Both sound great, but in leslie emulation, the winner (to my ears and most of my friends) is the Electro from Clavia, and the only thing I dont like is the overdrive, even at the lowest setting is too much.....so, if you dont use overdrive is ok, leslie emulation, vibratos ( C1,V1,C2,V2,C3,V3) are excelent, and of course, do not have the drawbars, but is easy and intuitive to use.
