Dan...

Is this a software upgrade on a standard Sd1 KB?

Is it different than/in addition to 4.0b?

Can it be applied to my SD1?

Good Questions .

The piano sample is a hardware change ( my understanding) , new chip .

If you have upgraded your SD1 to 4.0 , than you get all the SD1plus features , but the SD1plus has colored buttons and labels added to help with the new navigation features . SD1 owners would need to see the PLUS and try to implement the label's . Make sense ?

I have not heard or seen a SD1 plus yet , So until so ..I can not say if the new sounds described by Ketron are any different than what was implemented with 4.0a .

I was told that the "new" styles on the SD1 plus are different , more like the styles that are currently on the harddrive of the SD1 .
If the new SD1plus styles are like any of the 81 styles (18 disk) I've mentioned on other post ........than the SD1plus will kick butt.

So .....to summarize ....the "new" piano sample on the SD1 plus is hardware , not something a current SD1 owner can upgrade to .

Until I see and play the SD1 plus myself , I will not be able to judge how much it's different vs. the SD1.

Next week ? Dano

I played an SD1 plus today; basically is the same keyboard, with the new sounds and styles from OS 4.0 (but without the reload option if you don't like them). The new piano sound is intended for rock music (it's kind of bright) and can be loaded from the hard disk. I am 100% sure that the new sounds and styles will be made available through one of the Ketron groups found on Yahoo.
