If you were buying a 3000, what else would you buy for it? And how much $$$, approximately? Such as memory, drives, etc.

Buy a 128MB Smart Media card and a ??? size USB thumb drive. (The size is up to your budget.) I have a 256MB and there's oodles of space on it. All my "go to" sequences fit in the SM card, and there are HUNDREDS.

If you don't already have two foot pedals, you can eliminate some button pushing by getting them. There's tons of things you can assign to pedals (one at a time of course). For those who use VH, it is especially helpful since the VH & Talk buttons were eliminated on the 3K.

This is just a possibility, not a given.

The pedals, would a sustain pedal for a psr740 work on the 3000? Would it work to trigger anything or just for sustain?

All the PSR's I've had will use any momentary action footpedal (i.e. one that reverts to its rest condition when you take your foot off)(as opposed to a switch action as is sometime necessary for effects units when the switch goes off-on on hte first press and on-off at the second) of either action (i.e. normally open or normally closed) to operate in either of the available footpedals (just alter foot pedal polarity to suite). Anything described as a "sustain pedal" will be fine.

Therefore I'm sure the 740 footswitch will work fine.

And I've bought a 128m Smartmedia card for my shiny new 3k!
