My SD1 has 4.0a installed. I try to install 4.0c and it locks up. Fortunately I can remove the disk and nothing as been changed.
Is it necessary to first install 4.0b or is it possible to install 4.0c over 4.0a?
Thanks,
DonM

I'm liking the SD1 quite a lot actually. Time will tell.

DonM,

It should work from all 'directions'.
Where does it lock up ? (what point)
Did you format the floppydisk on the SD1 or PC?

Nice to hear
I'm seriously thinking about add a SD1 myself, been looking
for a used one in mint condition for a while.
The keyfeel are beautiful, styles are in my taste and need,
and it sounds like a "live band".
Even more interresting now when knowing that there is no
successor coming from the Ketrons this year.

But it's hard to find any at the moment, and new ones grab
a kind of deep into the wallet here in our part of the world.

Happy exploring & playng.
GJ

Btw, I can see that the company who used to import and
distribute Technics has taken over and now represent Ketron.
To me that sounds good.

Don, I'm maybe totaly out on the fields here, but I seem
to remember looking into the website that there are two
different updatefiles, one for SD1 and one for SD1+.
Just striked my mind if there could be a mixup in files
downloaded?

Don, some of the older SD1's had a circuitry problem and would not allow you to update via floppies..You will have to send the SD1 to New York for a hardware[circuit board] replacement pre loaded with the new operating system..The cost is around $600.00..but it will get you up and running with the newest upgrade..[just kidding]..Call DanO or AJ, they will straighten you out..

I will try formatting the floppy on the SD1, although I have used the same floppy for adding files. I suppose I need to get the serial cable when I get a chance.
When I put the floppy disk in, while holding down F6 as directed, it read the directory and began reading the first file, but it never moved after that. After about 10 minutes, I just removed the disk, rebooted and put the project aside for a while.
I'll try again today.
Thanks,
Don

Don...

Congrats on your SD1 aquisition. There are many things about this board you're gonna really enjoy, including all the buttons once you become familiar with where everything is. (takes awhile)

Sorry I can't help you on this one, but listen to Roel, he's our resident SD1 guru. Also, go to the Ketron forum and check in with AJ, or email him direct:

He will answer your questions. Good luck.

Glenn
