Does anyone have any idea how long this back light will last in my PSR-550.. Actually my 550 has 3 different back lights... I saw on ebay this guy selling a PSR-630.. He said after 5 years his bulbs went out and the screen was a little tricky in areas... I wonder how long my 550 will last... One huge plus with my 550 is that not only does the back light change depending on your current function, but you can also select on specific color to stay on at all times, and you can even turn off the back light if the room is well lit and you don't need it.... I sometimes turn mine off to try and extend the life of the lights..

Why not buy some backup lights just in case?

That's a good idea Djn.. I'll call Yamaha and find out the price for them.. Besides my board is past warranty anyways.. I know enough people with electonics degrees to fix it for me...

Thanks

Squeak,
If I recall, the backlights are not easily replacable on the PSR-500 or 550. They are tiny, 12-volt lights that are soldered in place on the PC board and not easily accessible. You may want to check with Yamaha's tech service for replacement instructions.

Good Luck,

Gary
