#12406 - 11/15/00 04:00 PM strange behaviour on Nanosynth

I wonder if anyone could help me on this problem. I have recently bought the
Nanosynth, thanks to all the reviews, and of course the
very budget pricing of it.

However, I find it behaving quite strangely and I have no idea where the
problem lies.

The nanosynth is hooked up to a keyboard controller and my Mac Powerbook via
a Fastlane-USB interface.

I am using OMS as my studio setup in Mac.

I could get midi messages to be sent to the Nanosynth as shown by the Midi
light lighting up when I play on the keyboard or playing a midi message
through the computer. But even when the light lights up, there is no sound.

However when I do a simple connection with just the keyboard controller and
speakers, I could get the sounds.

I am totally bewildered. i would appreciate it if anyone could help me. Thanks.

I was just reading through the Nanosynth's Reference Manual because I'm interested in buying a used one.

I noticed in there that program 127 from the User bank sends no sound. This is the way to shut off channels you don't want to use. Not that this is your problem. I'm just thought I might share hoping it will help you.

Peace,
Bob

Hi Bob,
In my last post concerning the nano, every thing has worked out. It is a very powerful instrument. Yes chanel 127 is silent for when you daisy chain them, or use them with any other synth and you don't want it to make any sound.
Be aware that if you nano acts up it may require reinitalizing. More info can be found at http://bilbo.bio.purdue.edu/~bhill/crumpy/
