Hello again good people,

Your info on the 3K vs. Tyros has been invaluable. My leaning is toward the 3k right now. One or two more questions, please. Will Tyros styles work on a 3k? Will Pipelinerr's registrations for the Tyros and 9000 PRO work on the 3K?? I've been reading so much about these subjects that I'm on information overload.

Thanks again,
Tom

All of the Tyros styles will play on the 3000, however, you will have to convert the registration files in order for them to work properly.

I believe there are a few 'Tyros Styles' which utilize OTS instrument voices unique to the Tyros, which would then need to re-assigned to a similar sounding voice on the PSR3000. - Scott

All of you are fantastic!! Your help is great. I have been poring over the specs of the 3K and the Tyros over and over. There are several features that make the Tyros more desirable, but I guess that for my personal needs, those features are not worth the $ 1000 - $ 1200 extra outlay, not counting the speakers. Besides which, the 3K has a few things going for it that the Tyros does not, particularly in the area of computer friendliness.

Additionally, it appears that the Tyros may be nearing the end of it's product cycle so it be would be to my benefit to wait until Tyros II comes out and then seriously consider the new one. And as Uncle Dave pointed out, it will be a lot easier to sell the used 3K rather than the Tyros.

So guys, I think I'll be picking up a new 3000 pretty quick. I'll be in touch with you
and I'm sure that I'll have many other inquiries for all of you.

Sincerely,
Grandpa Tom
