I'm considering getting an Akai S2000 and I was wondering about connecting it to my PC. I don't want to fork out for a SCSI card so i was wondering whether an Akai S2000 (or any Akai) will connect to the computer's com port or LPT1 (printer) port to allow me to send data from there.
Thanks, Sam

If you don't mind fiddling with your midi cables you can connect the akai midi out to the computers midi in and the computers midi out to the akais' in. The only problem with this is you can't connect anything else, but is a cheap way of dumping samples for editing to and from each device, though it can be slow!
