There are lots of breakbreats and samples on internet (WAV format) for download. Nevertheless, only a few can be loaded into the MPC 2000. The message on the screen is "Unknown file format". Last time I tried to load thirty WAV format samples into the MPC 2000 and only six of them could be loaded. I guess it's not a source problem, because the thirty samples were picked from the same site. I've had this problem since I tried this six months ago with version 1.5. Now, with version 1.7 I've got the same problem. I spend hours downloading great breakbeats and samples, but then the MPC goes too choosy and let me work with a tiny percentage. Does anybody know something about different WAV formats, or what kind of WAV files does the MPC 2000 support? Help!

Have you guys tried the AWAVE shareware program? It'll convert those wave files into just about any format. I think there is an AKAI MPC format option in the program. Very easy to use. Check Synth Zone's Akai page and go down until you find AWAVE by FMJ software.

I just double-checked my AWAVE program. It does conversions to MPC series format. This is the tool you want. Inexpensive and well worth it.

Check the specs of your files. I'm pretty sure the files need to b 44.1khz 16-bit stereo samples.
