Lately, I've been playing/recording songs into the memory of the PSR 3000 keyboard.

More often than not, I'll get 2 or 3 minutes into the tune and then hit a blundering wrong chord or 2.

Instead of starting the song all over because of 1 or 2 bad notes, what midi software (easy and cheap) can I use to edit/correct those notes?

Also, does one of the midi edit products do a better job at determining the chords of a midi and displaying that chord as, for example, C7 Gm etc?

Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated ... aside from "start practicing and learn how to play"

Thanks Donny. I will read up on that.

In the past, I have downloaded 1 or 2 trial versions of midi software (don't remember which brand names) and they were accurate in identifying most chords in the song bars, but I was surprised at how many were incorrect. Its been a while since that time, i'm hoping they are now doing a better job at defining the chords correctly.

If anyone can recommend a midi reader/editor than does a good job at determining the chords, i'm interested.

Thanks

I suggest PSRUTI. It is excellent and does a better job with chords than some others.

It is also free...

I have tried both GNMIDI and PSRUTI and I prefer PSRUTI. It does a pretty good job of chord recognition and like Michael says, it's free. It also transposes songs quickly and easily, has a midi player, etc.
My thanks to Michael for a great program which he constantly updates, BTW.
