Hello again,
I installed an IBM hard drive from Vince with 3 partitions in my psr9000. I can not figure how to load/transfer these into the internal memory locations. The HD 00 shows a bunch of stuff, but HD 01 and 02 show 'no file'. Any help on some step by step would be appreciated. And thanks for the tips on last night's question.
Thanks,
Zuki

Zuki,
I assume that you want to load a style into the flash memory. If this is the case, you have to:
1- Press one of the memory bank buttons
2- Press "Style manager" in the lower right corner of the screen
3- Press the first button on the left ("Load style into flash rom")
4- Select the style/s from the hard disk with the up and down buttons (you have here an option to load a single style, a group of styles or all the styles found in a folder)
5- Press "Next"
6- Select a slot in one of the memory banks
7- Press again "Next"
8- Press "Yes" when asked "Do you want to load"
You are done.
Hope this helps and...
Merry Christmas!

Thanks Dreamer.
Doing as you wrote - perfect. Next, I need to find the way to access and load the 'songs' that are on the hard drive...into which locations? No clue..
Thanks,
Zuki

Zuki,
it's all in the manual...
1- Press "Song player" (third from the left, upper row)
2- Press one of the song banks (the very first buttons on the left)
3- Press "Pop up" in the lower right corner
4- Select the source (floppy or hard disk)
5- Select the song/midifile to load
6- Select the location (memory slot)
7- Confirm the loading (like for the styles), etc etc

Zuki,
Vince left HD01 and 02 EMPTY for your own files. He did put a lot of great files on the HD0
Be sure to back up everything before you start moving all the furniture around. You can backup to the hard drive.
I found that a lot of the files on the Cd Vince included won't come up on the keyboard so I transfer the individual directories from his cd to a cdrw disc and then load them in and save them. That is an effective workaround if you have a problem accessing some of the files on the cd. I don't know what the problem is but others have had the same problem.
I use a cdrw disc so that I can erase it and use it for this over and over again.
Merry Christmas. Enjoy that new board, it is one of the best.

Hi BEBOP,
HD01/02 noted. THANKS. Been exploring quite a lot. First experience with a hard drive, but not a real problem, thanks to my forum friends! I guess I'll explore the CD backup equipment next - any suggestions on what to purchase?
Regards,
Zuki

HI Zuki,
You can use a cdr or cdrw although you won't be able to use the write part, only the read part, but whatever you may have or find will work. IT HAS TO BE SCSI!!!
You can also usa a zip drive. Iomega still sells the 250 SCSI zip drive. You can use both too if you want to. The older drives or ok even if they are slow because the transfer is pretty slow anyway.
Hope this don't add to the confusion

Hey BEBOP,
Appreciate your feedback. This is where my real interest is...scsi. Is it possible to get phat sounds, via the cd, into the 9000? I love all about the 9000, but a psr just keeps sounding like every other psr after a while, although that in itself is really good. But the ultimate would be to load some sophisticated/cooler sounds into the board. That, to me, would make it a keeper. Possible?
Thanks,
Zuki

I have a number of great instruments loaded into the user custom slots via a CD that Vince sent me with the Hard drive. They are really gooooooooooooooood
I also want to tell you that I just got 64 megs of Ram so I can do some on board sampling for evern better sounds. I maybe install the ram tomorrow
