Hi,
Would anyone happen to have a midi file for the song "Rags to Riches" (Tony Bennet)?
I've searched but have come up with nada.

Found the lyrics, but the midi has been elusive. Might have to record one.

Rags To Riches
Tony Bennett
Written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross

Charted at # 1 in 1953
Later charted by Sunny and the Sunliners at # 45 in 1963
Later charted by Elvis Presley at # 33 in 1971

I know I'd go from rags to riches
If you would only say you care
And though my pocket may be empty
I'd be a millionaire

My clothes may still be torn and tattered
But in my heart I'd be a king
Your love is all that ever mattered
It's everything

So open your arms and you'll open the door
To ev'ry treasure that I'm hopin' for
Hold me and kiss me and tell me you're mine ever more

Must I forever be a beggar
Whose golden dreams will not come true?
Or will I go from rags to riches?
My fate is up to you

Must I forever be a beggar
Whose golden dreams will not come true?
Or will I go from rags to riches?
My fate is up to you

Cheers,

Gary

Gary-

I perform that song, using a style...not a midi file...

Do you need the music? Email me if you do...

Bill,
Which style do you use?
I imagine it's some big band?
If you would send me the music it would be appreciated. My e-mail is in my profile.
Thanks
Jim

PS I found an mp3 of tony and elton doing a duet of rags to riches. Very cool.

Tom,

I looked for about an hour bur couldn't find the midi file. I'm sure there is one somewhere out there in cyberspace, but on slow dialup it would take me forever to find it. Maybe one of the guys with cable can do a Google search and come up with something.

Good Luck,

Gary

Thanks for the complemtns Jim. Sorry I couldn't post a midi file for you, but my fingers are shot to hell with some nasty disease the docs have finally began to treat. Three fingers on the right hand look like they've been through a pencil sharpener. It's difficult just typing the responses to posts using only my left hand.

Thanks again,

Gary

If you're interested in buying a well-done Bennett arrangement, it's available from Midihits for $8.99.

Sonola,
Thank you. I'll check it out.

And Gary,
Jeez, I hope you can get those fingers taken care of. Sounds very painful.
No need to reply.

Gary...so sorry about your right hand. I broke two fingers on my right hand the day Dave arrived for his visit. Played through it with a brace, but it was really painful. About back to normal now.

You really don't know how devistating a relatively small injury to your hand is until it happens. Sounds like this is more serious than my small cracks.

Get well soon, and let us know how it's going.

Russ
