Does anyone know if there was ever a post ANYwhere... general settings changes for psr740 versus the stock settings it comes with? I have a friend who has one and it's never been tweaked and he just bought a PA. Will be using midi's and also just playing with auto-accompaniment, if that matters. A duo... with a guy on acoustic guitar. The guitar player sounds fantastic but the 740 does not. Yeah, he needs a new keyboard but... that's all he has for now. He hardly ever uses anything other than piano voice.

What's he playing through?, He may want to consider adjusting the EQ on the 740. Also if he's using a MONO amp the sound quality should be compromised a bit. The 740 is a good sounding board. Again I would think some basic EQ changes may help there.

They bought two 15" Peavey speakers and a 16-channel mixer, I don't know what type but way much overkill on the mixer.

If he's using the EQ on the mixer than I suggest he set the 740's EQ to FLAT. Otherwise he's going to run into some crazy output there If he uses the EQ on the 740 he needs to flatline the EQ on the mixer. Also he may be able to find a middle ground by adjusting the EQ on the 740 and the Mixer so that they compliment eachother and not overpower one or the other.
