Hi All,
I purchased my psr 2100 used and the seller gave me a very good price and I thought everything was included. Well, there apparently was one thing missing, the CD.
I have no idea what is on the cd and no idea what can be done using the usb port as there is very little information in the manual regarding it.
Is the cd info/program's d'loadable someplace?
Any assistance appreciated.
Any info welcome.
Thank you once again,

Essentially, the 2100's USB port is a midi interface that connects to your computer. The CD contained several items, including the driver files for your computer.

Can I use the usb connection in place of a midi cable?

Yes,

But, this will only connect you to your computer--not other midi devices. Additionally, you must install the proper midi drivers in your computer in order to make the connection between the computer and keyboard. It's a great tool to interface with sequencing software.

So, How would you load styles into the PSR2100? I was looking at a PSR2100 yesterday, and assumed it acted as a drive.

Though I do not have any personal experience with the 2100, from what I've read you can load them with the floppy drive.

Thank you for the replys,

Starkeeper, As far as I know You can only load styles/songs/registrations/music finder data, multipads, and anything else loadable via the floppy drive on the 2100.

I think I read somewhere that sounds could be edited via usb connection and I think a special yamaha program included on the cd which I do not have.

I am hoping there is some way that I could edit sounds on my pc.
This was the main reason for this post. Plus I thought also I may pick up some other tasty info tidbits.
