.. my Z-5500 center spkr seems to be crackling/breaking up ... so I contacted logitech and they will send me a new set, free, but I have to return the controller for this one ...
Anyone have similar experience?

HI Tony

My guess there policy is they figure it's too expensive to send back a whole system, but if you send back the controller, you won't be able to use the old unit. Kind of a protection for them I would think.

Tony,

I had to do this the last time I had a problem. They are going to send you an entire system--not just a speaker. By returning the controller, this insures them that they are not being scammed by someone that is looking for a free system.
