I'd take the PSR-1000. Here's why,

-way better screen
-style recording, and editing
-16 track sequencer with editing
-basic voice editing
-way more indepth DSP editing
-better speakers
-better sound (in some areas)

The only thing is it's 61 keys. However I think it's more for your money if it's the same price.

Buy the PSR-1000--lots of options and versitility. Don't worry about the 61 keys--just enjoy the keyboard.

Good Luck,

Gary

Hi,
really depends what you're after.
The dgx is really more of a piano that has styles, wheras the psr1000 is an arranger keyboard.
If arranger functions ( playing styles) is what you're after, the dgx is a bit limited. You can only load one user style at a time ( via smart media card) and the styles only have 2 variations.

Personally if I was after an arranger keyboard, I'd be more inclined to go for the psr even though the technology is older.

Really depends on your needs. (You're really not comparing apples with apples)

best wishes
Rikki

HI Norman,
if you have access to a computer, you can midi a dgx up to it & greatly expand the functions of the dgx with software like OMB http://www.1manband.nl/.
With it you can edit styles for a dgx, you can even use it as an arranger by using the dgx as a controller keyboard & sound source.

Meanwhile if you do go ahead, learn all it's functions & later on , maybe consider a program like OMB if you require extra style functions.

best wishes

Hey Norman - if you haven't locked in on a purchase yet and are still interested in a PSR 1000, let me know at saxxman@sprintmail.com. I have one in mint condition still in original packing....

Norman - OK - Got it! Best of luck on your search. I am confident that you will not regret getting a PSR... They are great boards from the '1000 up. Have a great New Year and happy (PSR) hunting over there!
