Hi All!

I have not been here in ages! I see most of you are still here. I just purchased one of those Casio WK-3500 keyboards. I was using the WK-1800 as a 76 keyboard controller for the PSR2000. Yes, I still have it! I decided to upgrade the Casio as I was so impressed with the smartmedia slot and all the options. I also, am totally impressed with the sounds which seem to rival the PSR2000. I believe Casio has used the sounds from the MZ2000.

Anyways, I see that nothing has changed much here. Uncle Dave is still buying new boards and Squeak is leaving music? Huh?

I have not had much time to play the new Casio but hope to give it a workout on the weekend.

Hope everyone is doing well.

-Linda

I forgot to mention that the Casio WK-1800 is up for sale in the for sale forum.

Thanks,

Linda,

I'm interested in checking out the wk 3500 as a controller for my Motif and or PA80. If it has any of the sounds I liked from the MZ2000, then it could be a winner. ( yes there were a few.. best alto sax patch I've ever heard on any non acoustic modeled synth, and some cool guitar and organ sounds ).

How is the key feel ? I liked the MZ's key feel. It was a more solid feel than it is on the PA80, but still not so tight as to restrict me from good synth solos, so if it's similar, I might really be interested, esepcially since a comparable 76 key controller itself costs nearly the same anyway. Does the synth engine allow patch editing ? I don't imagine it would have the detailed editing capabilities that the MZ had.

AJ,
The feel is the best thing about it so far. The grand piano voice is very nice, but loaded with a spacial effect. Very pleasing to the ear, but somewhat synthetic. I like it though. The key feel is very nice ..... not a bad unit to just trigger another (at the very least)

Hi Linda.. Haven't seen your name in a while. I'm with AJ... After owning the MZ I'd love to hear the sounds on the 3500 myself. Ohhhh could you check in the manual and tell me if the 3500 will allow loop recording for styles. It was my understanding that the 1800 didn't allow this..

Thanks,
Squeak
