Don't you have to pay quite a bit more in shipping fees when you order from there? Also don't you have to pay custom fees along with that.. How does the AC conversion work too? Do you have to get special adapters.. I've heard some nightmares regarding synthplanet before..., where some people couldn't even get their keyboards because customs wouldn't let them into the US because they didn't have specific stickers on the keyboards that must be on them in the US regarding volatage and stuff

There's also a Yamaha Tyros on Synthplanet.

Tyros: "Customers living outside Europe"

Total Price : US$ 1889.05

Speakers: $170.00
Shipping: $71.47
Total Price = : $2130.32

That's ALL you pay I believe in the USA buying fronm Synthplanet. The extra shipping on speakers shouldn't be $71.00 "as well" I wouldn't have thought.

A Tyros & speakers from Synthplanet brought in the UK would cost about £1,646.31. (@2520) $$)

Well, something like that anyways

Any errors here are likley do to Microsoft's Windows calculator

E&O not extra!

I live only 150 miles from 'synthplanet' in the Netherlands (they are from Belgium) but I won't think about it, to buy from them. Squeak_D is very right about the power-supply/AC-conversion. In Europe we use 230V/50Hz while the US has 115V/60Hz.
The frequency difference is not a big problem as long as you have no true Hammond Tonewheels but the voltage IS a problem !

Synthplanet does not always tell the truth and often they have NO instruments on stock, while they promise customers to ship 'tomorrow'.

Advise : Buy from authorized dealers in your country.

World Electric Guide

Quote from synthplanet:

__________

Will instrument "X" work on my local power ?

Multi-Standard Designs:

Fortunately, most musical instruments today come with power supplies that can be used in almost any part of the world. Check the manufacturer's label to see what type of input it can handle. Those designed for use just about anywhere have a section on the label that looks something like this : INPUT: AC 100V- 240V~ 1.0A 50 / 60 Hz
This shows that the device was designed to be used over a wide range of voltage levels and at different electrical frequencies. In this particular example, the instrument can accept “nominal” voltage anywhere from 100 volts to 240 volts and can operate on either a 50 Hz or 60 Hz system.Although most power supplies are intelligent, some power supplies have a switch right on them to change the voltage. In both cases, all you would need is the proper power cord to go from the power supply to the outlet.Non-Multi-Standard Designs :Although all recent designs are multi-standard, not all instruments are available on both voltages. When You place an order on our site You can specify the voltage current of your choice (110/120 V or 220/240 V). Please choose the appropriate voltage when ordering an electronic instrument. Note : not all instruments are available on both voltages. Please contact us if you want to be sure.

We do have step-up/step-down voltage converters available, like :· VC-85 (85 Watt)· VC-100 (100 Watt)· VC-200 (200 Watt)· VC-300 (300 Watt)· VC-500 (500 Watt)· VC-800 (800 Watt)· VC-1000 (1000 Watt) More InfoPlease contact us for more information regarding a specific instrument. See also the instrument description on our website for more info about voltage or adapter requirements.

I find it hard to believe that synthplanet wouldn't be able to cater for foreign voltage requirements. A "check before you order" wouldn't be too much trouble would it? Ans even if it wasn't, there are adapters available.

Hello

I contacted SynthPlanet a number of times when I was considering a PA80. Just because it is listed doesn't mean it is in stock. I e-mailed them several times and it was not in stock. It's worth buying local if you can or from somebody like George Kaye. Right now a local dealer just received a Korg PA60. I can get it cheaper here than through SynthPlanet or any of the big online dealers right now.

But its worth emailing SynthPlanet, you never know. I read on a PA80 forum of some that bought that way for around $1450 total. It did not need an ac convertor.

When I asked about the KN6500 they said, and was also listed at the bottom of that page you needed an electric convertor for this country.

They have a box you can click on that figures frieght for each country. Typical frieght is $70-$110. There is a 5.4% import duty on the cost of the merchandise. Then add maybe $100 ?? for an ac convertor and there's your price.

I partially confirm what Roel is telling about Synthplanet. I bought from them once (a Kurzweil controller with internal sounds). Delivery toke a relatively long time, but they warned me about the delay. The product I ordered was difficult to find (impossible in Portugal, I waited three months with an authorized portuguese dealer), as there were problems with the Kurzweil representation in Europe, at that time.
