DonM Senior Member Registered: 06/25/99 Posts: 16735 Loc: Benton, LA, USA	Personally I prefer mixer and powered speakers. If one speaker should happen to go out, you still can finish the show. Also they are more efficient because the amplifiers are tailer-made to compliment the speakers. I recommend the Barbetta Sona 31 or 32Cs. They are lightweight, powerful and sound great. jamman Member Registered: 08/24/04 Posts: 667 Loc: City of Angels in the golden s...	if you are on a budget mixer + pwr speakers (pwr speakers bacome your monitors when you upgrade system). what's your budget,use? it all depends. speakers+mixer+amp is always the best.(you get both power and headroom with the correct match-no need for multiple pwr plugs). not recommeded- pwred mixers -(if they fail you loss both mixer and amp-hard to back up). Roel Member Registered: 06/24/99 Posts: 1232	Shade of Pale, The sub I use is 15", home made (copy of 10" Dawn design x 1.5) It has a home made low-pass at 100 Hz and a (only) 120 W amp. built in. She does an extrmely good job and not a 2nd one needed at all. I use the AUX-send for the sub-input, so each mixer channel adjustable.
