The forum is getting boring theses days. Most is just links to other news. We need some new products now. Where is the E-80 series and Tyros 3 and 3000 successor. How about a new Korg arranger. Generalmusic and Ketron are sure quiet.

Dnj -

Absolutely nothing! I've tried most of them and really think the 3000 is best for the money. My budget is in the middle, so can't have the Tyros, 70 or those. I also loved the VA, so waiting for the E-50 or 60, 'cause I lean towards Roland.

What didnt you like about the others ?

Im not so keen on the new E series from Roland .....judging by what Ive heard & read so far......but if they ever come to market here some day I will take a peek....although I doubt I would ever buy one. The 3k is filling more then MY NEEDS at this time.....no need for another T2 ....
What are you actually looking for in playing your music?

Oh, middle price range ($1000), maybe 76, lightweight, speakers, great sounds, lively styles, great keybed, piano first and above all - dependable. If the 3000 successor goes 76, it'd be a no brainer.

D - Good advice. Exactly what I plan to do. Going to build a studio again. When do you think the next Yammy boards are due? I'd rather have a Yammy for a studio. Ya think anything will be 76?

Hello zuki.
The grapevine suggests the new offering(s) from Yamaha will be due some time next year, possibly Spring. Is that when the Namm show is?
If they have been looking at the competition from the likes of the E60 by Roland, a new Yamaha could well have 76 keys.

If you guys think it is boring around here, just try coming into my store this summer and see how boring things are getting. I get customers in all the time wanting to buy something new and we have really seen a slow down in new products coming to market these past couple of years. PSR3000's, Korg PA50's continue to be hot along with all the Casio low end Privia's and WK products, but when you have a customer base that is used to coming in every two years or so and finding the latest and greatest and there isn't anything to speak of for the end of this year, it makes for a very slow spell in a music store where high end arrangers are the norm and not the exception, such as my store. There really hasn't been much for me to add into any of the discussions here lately and I too agree that all the hot topics we are used to chatting about here have become a bit dull lately. I only hope we get word of some new Korg, Yamaha, Ketron products soon or I might have to just start selling only guitars and drums!

Hello Zuki
At the Caister Festival UK last October, the Tyros 2 and Roland G70 OS2 were launched.
At the Blackpool Festival UK last May, the Roland E80 prototype was demonstrated and Ketron launched the SD5 and SD2.
The Pakefield Festival UK is this September, so who knows, there may be some more new boards launched.

Hi George,
going back a few years, I think the manufacturers used to bring out a top end arranger one year, then the middle end arranger the following year, then another top of the line etc etc
I rember updating my keyboards every couple of years.

Maybe they've just run out of ideas to keep the public interested enough in upgrading.

best wishes
Rikki

Arrangers are just getting so good that you don't need to replace them as newer models come out. Even professionals on this board are still gigging with G1000s and PSR3000s happily. Arrangers are starting to become very mature, and need something radical to spur interest across the board in new technology.

I think it is time they combined the loop and arpeggiator functions from workstations (along with their associated sounds) with traditional arranger function, and FINALLY cater to the needs of the younger player (<30). Now THAT might get the juices (and sales figures) flowing again......

Maybe a Karma/PA1XPro fusion, or a Fantom with a built-in arranger section, or a combination MotifES/Tyros.

I'd buy one of THOSE in a flash..........
