I received an EMAIL from Roland CK today with Retail Prices and Availability Information.
The E80's suggested retail price is $4799
The E60 is $1799 and the E50 is $1499.
My Rep from Roland CK says they were hoping to have them by October but for some reason, they seem to think it will now be later then October.
In the meantime, the G70 has moved to the MI division effective January 1, 2007 with a retail price of $3799.00.
These prices represent manufactures suggested retail prices and of course you may find prices higher, lower or whatever.

$4799.00 vs $3799.00 ? what constitutes this price diffrence on the G70 vs E80?

The G70 has less styles and sounds I think but 76 keys. The E80 is Rolands latest technology, has some new styles and sounds but only 61 keys but it has speakers. The operating system and features possibly offer more than the G70 but I've not seen one yet to confirms this, although I intend doing so as soon as I can.
For the price difference the G70 looks to be a great buy considering the new E80 styles are available on the G70 forum for downloading and tweaking into the G70. I suppose it depends if anyone wanting to purchase a Roland requires speakers or not and 61 or 76 keys. At least Roland gives the option to purchasers as to buying 61 or 76 notes. I'd like to see Yamaha do this as I love my T2 but 61 keys is just not enough for some songs.
I'm guessing that the speaker system ups the price on the E80 as it looks very good on the specification.
The E80 is also selling for around £2000 cash price in the UK so a nice saving off the rrp.

Hey Dnj - With those prices, I'm going to have to save for a long time. Why are these boards priced for only a few to afford - good grief. The E-80 is almost a car price! No thanks.

I think the full retail price on the e80 is insanely high. And they dont include a stand and better speaker system like the Tyros. E80 width at 488mm...that makes it a bit bulky and too easy to scratch when moving it around...but thats just me... Oh and it would be nice if they put a better soprano sax this time and not that toy one the g70 had.

E-80 ain't worth it-even at half that price.
You'd be better off with the G-70.

I'm very interested in seeing/hearing what the E60 has to offer. 76 keys, speakers, and only 28 lbs is good for starters. Just how much is deleted from the G70 or E80 models remains to be seen.
