Nigel, there is a truss rod, but the problem with all Selmer copies is the lack of any mechanism to raise the bridge without a shim. The design is very complicated to reproduce.

In the case of this instrument, the buzzing is around A flat up to C across the fretboard. Frets are similar to the ones used on old Gibson Fretless Wonders...very thin and hard to get just right. The neck is not out of adjustment at all, it's the closeness of the strings and the bad frets.

I just got an email back from Kurt, and he offered to take it back. I'm going to keep it, try to have a little fret work done on it and then hang it on my office wall. I mostly wanted a decorator, anyway.
