Hello William,

Are you trying to use an ordinary data hard drive with the KN5000? If so I don't think you can for two reasons:-

1) I don't think the KN5000 is built to take a hard drive. If I remember correctly, this facility wasn't introduced by Technics until model KN6000 or KN6500.

2) If it is possible to use a hard drive with the KN5000, I would think you would first have to format it in the keyboard itself, in order for it to read the Technics format, (this is the way we format the SD Cards before use). If it is formatted in the PC, the keyboard cannot read it.

This is just a thought and I could be wrong, so I would suggest you address your problem to "Technicsplayer" He is an expert and has helped me on numerous occasions,particularly when I first started using Technics keyboards.
