Yes I heard that it was the French who invented cricket, that's why I said "the English game of cricket" otherwise at "tea" instead of "cups of tea and cucumber sandwiches" we would be having "wine and frogs legs" and that's " not Cricket old boy" is it

What made them give it up do you know?
Was it Napoleon thinking it would keep us busy working out the rules and field positions whilst he quietly invaded us ?
I used to keep wicket so I didn't have to run all round the boundary
