Song Manager is a great way to back up upload, download, merge, and restore Technic and Midi files. It is much quicker if you use a Reader/Writer, rather then the 7000 to computer. I use the Panasonic Reader/writer that came with Jukebox. Anything other then the Panasonic SZ-CB7Reader/Writer may or may not work. I backed up, merged 2 cards... a nearly full 32mb card and a 128mb card, and retored the merge onto a 256mb in about an hour. Much faster then the 7000 to Song Manager

After listening to Alec, reading his "Getting the Most from your KN7000" book, I believe Song Manager and a SD Reader Writer is a must if you want to organize your many files.

In my opinnion the number one asset is the back up. That should be a must ..back up your SD Card with Song Manager !

I believe the best way for a sucessful merge of 2 or more cards to 1 is to:
Backup each card
Merge the backups into 1.
Format a large enough SD card on your 7000
Restore the merged backups to the newly formatted card

Remember backup.. repeat backup.. first !
