song manager will create a backup file to restore using a card reader or 7000 usb with computer, but 7000 usb will be far too slow for a big restore; get a card reader.

I have used the Panasonic USB reader, Panasonic PCMCIA reader and the SD slot built into my Toshiba with total success. Others have reported success with cheaper card readers but you may not (probably will not) be able to use others for digital audio transfer, unless they are specified for SD audio.
