It seems to me the simple solution would be for like playing with like unless agreed upon by all. So transsexuals compete with transsexuals only, men compete with men and women compete with women unless otherwise fully agreed upon by all concerned. Just my 2 pfennigs.
That makes sense to me, but what if there aren't enough transsexual athletes to form a team or compete against each other? It's a complex issue for sure!
