Thanks guys, what's missing is that signature 'break'. I ignored it because it would have forced me to tweak the drum track; naturally, laziness won out . I WOULD work it out if I had to collaborate with someone. Also, maybe a little closer to the original bassline....however, conventional basslines don't always translate well to (jazz)organ basslines. The jazz organ pioneers made a point of making the organ bass a prominent part of their playing (just listen to Tony M. or Joey D). Anyhoo, when you've got an audience that doesn't know how to say 'THAT SUCKS', it gives you a lot of room to 'experiment' (aka 'making it up as you go') .
