As an aside in regard to my dad, he was born in a little town called Barns in northeast Kansas in 1895. When he was very young, he and his family travelled by covered wagon across the prairies to northwestern Oklahoma where he grew up. He served in France during World War I. He wrote his biography. We still have the handwritten pages. It was published and is a treasure. His account of his experiences while "on the trail" to Oklahoma makes very interesting reading.

Chuck,
Do you recall the name of the little town in Oklahoma? I was born in Wichita, KS, but grew up in a little town in the North part of Oklahoma. My dad had to go into the service for WWII shortly after I was born, so my mother moved us back to Oklahoma when I was just 8 months old. No wagon though!
