Hi,
I managed to sort all the KN .cst's ( styles)from the KN7000 website. I loaded them from floppy to the KN and saved them to my SD card in the style groups I wanted. I also have everthing backed up in my computer so that if something goes wrong , it's simple to load it back onto my card again.
I've got instructions on how I did it plus a spread sheet naming all the 600 or so individual .cst's from the KN website.
I also bought a cheap card reader that I use for backing up the sd card. All i do is take the SD card out of the KN , place it into the sd card reader attached to my laptop
press copy from sd card (e: drive on my computer) , copy to my KN folder in c: drive.
It takes 3 to 4 minutes to copy the whole 32 meg sd ( which is about 50% full of styles)
I've given directions on what I did , plus the spreadsheet with all the styles named at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kn7000/files/ The card really is great once you work it out. I haven't had a chance to try midifiles yet as it's taken me a few weeks to work out my system for the style sorting.
best wishes
Rikki

For now, if I were you, I would just forget about the SD Card. It is an over-hyped hardware add-on by Technics, that obviously was not well thought out. Why would Technics come out with a new device like the SD Card and NOT include any software for transfering the many midi files and such utilizing a computer.
For me the whole thing is a complicated mess. I tried coping files from a disk to the SD Card with a computer or with the 7000. Sometimes I'm lucky, and it will "show" on the 7000. More often then not, it will show the disk at say 50% full, yet post the message that the SD Card is Empty. For some reason it could not read the midi file that was copied.
Now if you are lucky enough to copy from a Disk to the SD Card you then have to venture into trying to place that file where you want it for fast easy access, certainly not an easy task. Favorites? Alphabetically? By Number?
By Folder? Wow it's mind boggling !!!
As you can tell, I am frustrated by this whole SD Card deal. I have asked many experts in this forum about how to copy files to the SD Card, and have come to the conclusion, that either you "can't" or its difficult. Certainly Not Fun
For now, I'm sticking with FLOPPYS
