Yes, it is a numbers game. My RCF ART 312a is rated at 350w and it holds it own against my 1100w Yamaha DXR10.

Mine is bigger the yours doesn't mean better. The marketing for the powered speakers is all about getting the biggest number to show that there is a lot of headroom in the numbers.

100w used to sound like a lot!! Then 1000w turned into 1300w... then 1500w. I can't wait until the 3000w small powered speaker comes out in 2020!!

I am looking for a subwoofer to replace my 760w 15" EV. The new cardioid sub from QSC... KS212C is rated at 3600w... FOR A DUAL 12" single subwoofer!!!! Numbers game to create more numbers on their bottom line!!
