Played my 3rd gig with the 4X and SSV.3. Small crowd and small room...senior living place..I'm a regular there. I was mostly pleased with the sound and got compliments on sound although I will say that room is a bit tricky to EQ.

I have used the S970/SSV.3 combo successfully a number of times in this setting.

I really like the MAXX EQ system on the 4X and had to fiddle with the MAXX system a bit to get the 4X/SSV.3 combo sounding decent in this small room...barely used the width function on the SSV.3.

So far I've liked the 4X/Bose combo better but I used that combo in much larger rooms...not quite an apples to apples comparison.

For me, that MAXX system on the 4X is a treat...closest thing I've used to EQ controls on a recording deck.
