Indeed. You are relying on the fuse inside the 7000's internal power supply for protection. The philosphy of fusing in the UK is that a particular fuse is only designed to protect whatever is down the chain as far as the next fuse. I would imagine that the 7000 has something like a 1A internal fuse on the mains side of its power supply, assuming a maximum power consumption somewhat less than 100W at full blast!
