You guys got into computers after they had advanced quite a bit. My first, a Commodore 64 was all I used for more than 5 years, producing newspaper columns and magazine articles every day, the modem was horribly slow, 300 baud (I could type faster than that.), all the programs were on 5-1/4-inch floppy disks, and including the printer, that rig cost me about $600 back then.

For the music biz, I still use that 9-inch Acer Aspire, under $200, I just updated the memory, and it runs like greased lightning. Guess I'll stick with this dark ages stuff and piss the money away on sunshine and margarettas this winter. wink
