I'm still using a pair of B&W D-110...don't know how old they are, but at least 25 years or so. They are powered by an old Radio Shack 100w/side stereo amplifier that can be set to flat very easily.

Also have a cheap old Panasonic boombox that I use to test out recordings...if they sound good on it, then they'll sound good on anything.
