Generally, YOU play it, you don't need the arranger playing it too! But you never know what sound you feel like using, if you are just improvising, so you can't set the arranger's Part Mute up for it. Different sounds need different tracks muted.

An automatic parameter to do this would be awesome!


Don't you prefer being in control? i.e deciding for yourself if you want this, or not? I know enough styles with a piano track, that sound still great when you play solo piano on top of that...

Just use the slider (set to style parts volume) by hand if you want to mute a track, gives you full control..


I don't imagine a feature like this wouldn't have an on/off control. But when you are improvising (sure, know exactly what you are doing, easy enough to do this with OTS or whatever), you simply don't KNOW what the next sound is.

But I see it as simpler than selecting the sound, then looking at the Style Mixer to see if a similar sound is being used, figure out what track it is on, then have to go and pull down that fader (and put it back exactly where it was when you select the next sound).

Simplicity is what we arranger players want, isn't it? LOL
