Yes it is much easier to use than the 1680 because of the logical way the touchscreen works. I forgot to look to see if it has phantom power, but even if it doesn't you can buy a $50.00 rolls phantom power supply which plugs into the wall to give you phantom power. If I can remember I will check tomorrow at the store.
