Thanks for the complements, and I would be more than happy to make the dead-head plug for you. It only takes 10 minutes for me to make one, and there's really not much to it. I merely cut all but a small segment off the back end of a 1/4-inch plug with a hacksaw, leaving just enough to grasp the plug for easy removal. The center of the plug is filled with hot-melt glue, which prevents the top from inadvertently coming loose and becoming stuck inside the jack during removal. It also acts as an insulator to prevent the tip and shield from shorting together.
