Mapex Throne I used the Quik Lok Gary has, then moved to the current Roc-n-soc with lift. I recently sat in a Mapex guitar throne at G.C. Loved it- nice smaller but thicker back pad positioned forward more than the r-n-s.
be careful with the Mapex/Tama style Drum thrones,...yea it feels nice in the store when you FIRST sit in it as I thought so also when I bought one,.. BUT,......after gig after gig in the seat for 4 or eight hours at a time your "genitalia" will take a Big Toll due to the crotch HUMP intended to keep a "Drummer" in place while playing....as when your playing keyboard one tends to keep slipping forward putting pressure on the "COHONES"
especially in HOT Weather when sweat will also agitate the crotch areas
On top of that they weigh a ton to carry around and awkward to transport, stack on a kart, etc,.. also.
