Much of this depends upon the venue. Most of the time, though, I feel like I'm just getting fired up when the first hour ends at a NH job, and more often than not I play longer than the allotted hour time frame.

When I was playing the Tiki Bars in the Florida Keys, I usually didn't take a break during a three-hour performance. I was having too much fun, and apparently, so was the audiences.

Cassp, the only problem I ever had playing the American Legion and VFW lounges was putting up with the drunks and the low pay. The legions here have recently increased their pay scale to about $225 for a four-hour job, which is still less than half the pay scale for NH jobs.
