They've been having this same discussion for donkey's years. It's time to man up, and pick something. Technology is an ever moving target, as some point in time, you simply have to say 'OK, let's do it!' and not worry about some future standard.

Back in the 80's they could have procrastinated for ever about MIDI, but they didn't. They picked the best and most reliable that was available, and went with it.

They need to look long and hard at the spirit of MIDI's birth, and realize that's it's more important to get something done, than wait forever for something 'perfect'. It never will be.
