I was actually searching for something else when I stumbled across this great video of a discussion at NAMM re MIDIs past 30 years, and the future..with some pretty BIG names at the table..
A warning though, it runs for about an hour or so and is quite "addictive" so make sure you ahve your feet up with time to watch it
