If you ever want to silk up your strings a hair more, layering a smooth synth string patch in the background can go a long way to making it lush.
Try shortening the release of the string sound a hair (so you can do short runs without too much smear), but lengthen the release of the string synth patch a hair (depending on how long it is already) to smooth out the gaps. It's an old trick, but still effective...
