Windows 7 is just fine with a few issues related to legacy software not working. Otherwise it works great. Unfortunately, there is no good way to "sync" your old files that I know of. Windows will certainly give you the option of overwriting or keeping both copies of a file but the bottom line is I have always had to look at each file to determine which is the keeper.
