Nedim.....thanks for this elaborate reply. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I'm seeing these keyboards in a different light now. It seems the beauty of them is not so much the sounds themselves, but the ability to edit and morph into other sounds.

I'm not sure I want to pay for all of those editing options. I tend to be a player, and my days of editing went out with the DX7.

After I read your reply I DID go to my local music store to have a fresh look at the Kronos. Yes, incredible editing possibilities but way too many for your average Joe. I suddenly realized THAT'S what I'm paying for.

The plot thickens. I never realized something like this would happen. I've been playing only the piano (no synthesizers) for the last year. Suddenly, the artificial sound of a synth sounds noticeably "artificial." Not sure how to get around that one, or even do I want to "get around that one."

I'll back off the Kronos and Jupiter for now.
