This YouTube clip score transcription clearly 'shows' the 'many' LH rootless chords being played on that tune, and of which on an arranger that supports 'rootless chord' recognition, and playing the piano part 'similarly' in auto accomp 'arranger' mode, will trigger the auto accompaniment acoustic bass part to play a similar bass line as in the song as well. Sorry, playing root based chords will not produce this uniquely piano jazz sound.
I hope this might give people previously unfamilar with the advantage of playing rootless chords on an arranger might better appreciate it's advantages now, especially for keyboardists who want to play the arranger in the style of a comping jazz style pianist.
