I wouldn't trust a salesman unless he is willing to back his words with a reduced price to you if not out by his deadline. You would be amazed how most of them will start to hedge their words once their commission is affected!
If you can get one, I would seriously suggest maybe getting a Roland BK-7m to tide you over until the dust settles on the PA3X (we still don't REALLY know how good it is going to be). Probably about a quarter of the cost of a PA3X, you should be able to resell it if you don't need it after getting the Korg (but a good way to get a solid set of Roland sounds, too), and it and the Yamaha would make a GREAT combo...
