If it hasn't already been done somewhere, seems like a good idea. However, I am not sure it would be good for this forum, which lacks in new post activity... this forum does not move fast and activity (new posts) help maintain a healthy forum. When you add sub-forums, it takes movement away from the parent forum. I don't even favor this forum having "the bar." JMO.
