When I converted the G1000 styles for G800 I just used the manual. In the "microedit" you can change every sounds CC and PC.
You have to edit every part (drums, bass etc...) and every variation (maj, min, 7, orig, vari, intro, etc...)and then save this as a new style. You change the CC (if I remember it correctly) from 0 (G1000) to 1 or 2 (older soundbanks available in G800 ).
This takes some time (and sweat the first times) but when you´ve got used to it, you can edit a style in maybe 5 to 15 minutes or so depending of complexity.
I also use "microedit" to change strange sounding styles from other companies. I´ve edited lots of Ketron and Yamaha styles (allready converted to Roland - but strange sounding in some parts) this way to make them sound good on my keyboard.
