Rap and Hip Hop, although quite strong primarily in the US and some other parts of the world, will never "take over".
There are always people who like Rock/pop/mainstream/country/latin/ballroom/dance/trance/house and those genres will never die.
There is an abundance of young people learning music all over the world and their music books are not filled with rap and hip tracks and I don't think that is going to change any time soon.
also - when people are out at restaurants and anything borderline "Classy", they don't want to hear hip hop and rap. (no offence but you have to admit its not everyone's taste)
